Your mission

As Operational Finance Manager you are adept in managing the Finance component of the multidisciplinary DBFMO projects (Design | Build | Finance | Maintain | Operate) during the entire contract period. This includes financial modelling, long term forecasting, ensuring compliance with credit agreements with banks and other financial institutions and preparing accurate and timely internal and external financial reporting.

Reporting to the Head of Operational Finance, you will be part of a team of Operational Finance Controllers and Administrators dedicated to PPP concession projects in Belgium and the Netherlands. Based at our office in Brussels or Bunnik and you will also work regularly with the PPP Operational teams on site. 

As Operational Finance Manager within BAM PPP, you are responsible for the accounting and controlling of the SPV (special purpose vehicle; holding the funding of the project) of Dutch and or Belgium PPP projects. The flat organizational structure allows high involvement in both operational and strategic financial decision making. This is a hands on and intellectually challenging financial position with extensive interaction with numerous internal and external stakeholders. 

Key activities:
1. Reporting
Prepare periodical and ad-hoc internal and external financial reports for each SPV including monthly, quarterly, annual and fiscal reports. 
Liaise with and provide relevant information to internal and external parties such as banks and other financial institutions, shareholders, auditors, tax authorities in line with legal guidelines, statutory obligations and contractual agreements.
2. Financial modelling
Responsible for the operational financial model of the assigned projects, identifying risks and opportunities, continually improving their operational and financial performance. 
3. Advise
Monitor, review and pro-actively advise with regard to the financial position and risks and opportunities of the projects. Propose and implement changes to the financial model of the project.
4. Compliance
Ensure that all financial requirements from the credit and project agreements are met and propose solutions in case of non-compliance.
5. Budget and forecast
Analyse, calculate and forecast budgets. Analyse liquidity position and propose appropriate actions based on findings.
6. Knowledge and information management
Ensure financial expertise and information is between operational finance team, project finance managers and operational managers.

Who are we looking for?

  • •    Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar or have an equivalent experience level
    •    5 - 8 years relevant working experience in audit, finance or controlling
    •    (Basic) knowledge on tax compliance
    •    Good analytical and judgment skills, diligent and attention to detail
    •    Able to operate independently as a financial specialist 
    •    Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, good command of the Dutch and English language
    •    Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
