If you join us as a trainee or graduate, we provide a comprehensive training programme that gives you a thorough introduction to the construction industry, as well as developing professional skills for your future career.
We actively encouraged professional development for all our people, including supporting employees to achieve membership of a relevant professional body.
We invest in all our managers, to give them the soft skills they need to manage people effectively. We deliver a range of programmes for managers at all levels – from the essentials of management to strategic leadership – to support our policy of promoting from within.
Each business unit produces annual training plans covering safety, environmental management, IT and technical subjects, as well as personal development.
As well as traditional classroom-based delivery, we are introducing a more flexible approach to training through our e-learning portal and growing library of computer-based courses.
Our people are increasingly using the BAM Intranet and social media for sharing knowledge and learning, as well as taking part in regular national conferences and workshops where employees from different regions exchange ideas and good practice.
